Adventures in Branson

To go on an adventure means doing something unusual and exciting. In Branson, there is no shortage of adventures, but what you might call unusual or exciting is different for each of us. You’ll find lots of options in Branson, allowing you to customize your trip to include as much adventure as you seek.

High-Flying Fun
Zip lines are popular all over the world, but few can match the sights you’ll see while flying through the Ozark Mountains. From Branson Zipline Canopy Tours at Wolfe Creek Preserve, which will send you sailing high above the forest canopy, to Adventure Ziplines of Branson where you can zip day or night taking in the Branson skyline, you can pick the type of sights you’d like to enjoy… or try them both for very different experiences. A third type of zip line you’ll find in Branson will send you soaring from the top of Shepherd of the Hills Inspiration Tower. The Vigilante is a zip-rider, meaning you sit instead of hanging from a line attached to your waist.

Three other high-flying adventures worth trying are the Branson Ferris Wheel, and Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline and Steampunk Balloon. The Branson Ferris Wheel moved from Chicago’s Navy Pier to Branson last year. The Ferris Wheel will take you 150 feet in the air, giving you amazing views of the Ozark Mountains and the Branson skyline. At night, the wheel is illuminated with thousands of LED lights and puts on a show of its own called “Electrify.”

Branson Landing is where you’ll find Parakeet Pete’s adventures. You can float high above the ground in Parakeet Pete’s Steampunk Balloon while taking in panoramic views of Branson’s downtown area and nearby Lake Taneycomo. Or, soar OVER Lake Taneycomo on Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline.

A Need For Speed
Branson has some of the fastest fun around at The Track Family Fun Parks. You can ride go-karts up multiple stories on their high-rise tracks or allow the littlest drivers to have a go on the kiddy karts. There are four locations to choose from, each filled with various rides and other fun attractions.
The fastest karts in Branson can be found at the Xtreme Racing Center. These European Race Karts fly around the longest high-speed racing track in North America, which is right here in Branson.

Animal Adventures
The Branson area is home to two animal parks and an indoor animal attraction that offer fun adventures around every corner. The National Tiger Sanctuary, Promised Land Zoo and Branson’s Wild World are great for all ages. The National Tiger Sanctuary is home to exotic and domestic animals that have been rescued. It is a non-profit organization that seeks to educate visitors about its residents. Visitors can participate in various guided tours and experiences.

The Promised Land Zoo is a foot safari where you can meet many different animals – from zebras to camels. Visitors will enjoy live animal shows and the ability to feed many of the animals. Plus, you can participate in VIP experiences like a Sloth Meet & Greet. This year, Promised Land Zoo is expanding its grounds, adding 65 acres that will include a drive-through animal attraction.

Branson’s Wild World is an adventure park and aquarium. See wolf puppies, hands-on reptile displays, small mammals and a large aquarium section including sharks. You can interact with many of the animals, feeding sharks or holding reptiles.

Natural Explorations
Exploring something that’s new to you and unique to the area can be a great adventure. The Ozarks is known for its caves. Under the hills and beneath the rock bluffs are hundreds of cave systems. Some have been fully explored and are now open for you to visit.

Talking Rocks Cavern is a natural wonder located a short drive west of Branson. It’s the perfect destination for people of all ages to experience the fun of playing explorer. Once called “Missouri’s Most Beautiful Cave,” Talking Rocks Cavern and its beautiful landscape of glistening crystals provide the backdrop for an incredible adventure.

The mountains and rock bluffs that house Branson’s caves also create a stunning backdrop for outdoor sports like hiking and biking. You’ll find many trails to choose from, with skill levels from easy to advanced. The trails will often lead to mountaintops and then down along the lakeside to a creek or river.

Speaking of lakes… Branson has three beautiful lakes where you’re sure to find an adventure or two. Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo and Bull Shoals Lake each offer stunning scenic views. Fishermen come from across the country to fish these waterways. If watersports such as boating, skiing, tubing, swimming, or diving is what you’re looking for, Table Rock Lake is the most popular lake for these activities. Bull Shoals Lake is also a great option for watersports. Located a short drive from Branson, it’s smaller and less busy than Table Rock Lake. Lake Taneycomo is fed from the bottom of Table Rock Lake and stays a constant cool temperature, so it’s not the place to water-ski or swim, but it is a great location for kayaking.

New Adventures
Branson’s newest adventures will have you flying, crawling, coasting, climbing and swinging. Fritz’s Adventure opened near the end of 2016. This all-new, year-round attraction offers 80,000 square feet of hands-on climbing, tunneling, sliding, and zip-lining thrills. Fritz’s Adventure features daunting utility poles to climb, bridges suspended stories above towering rock-climbing walls and giant boulders, three impressive warped walls, a massive ropes course, urban brick buildings for scaling, a life-size water tower, multiple slides, tunnels and tubes, and an air-worthy airplane to explore. It’s truly fun for all ages.

The Runaway at Branson Mountain Adventure Park is a mountain coaster that uses the natural setting of the land to guide the track. It’s a unique adventure that allows you to choose your thrill level. You have your own brake, so you can go fast or enjoy a more leisurely trip through the Ozark Mountains.

Opening later this year is Bigfoot on the Strip, which will include a 200-foot tower with three ride options. Choose from two adventure-filled rides or a more leisurely scenic ride. This new attraction is sure to be one you won’t want to miss.

As you can see, Branson is filled with adventures. Simply choose your thrill level. And for the thrill of saving money, check out the coupon section in this guide for special offers on some of Branson’s most popular adventures.
