Finding Romance in Branson

  By: Ladona Weathers

The ultimate in romance, relaxation, and ways to reconnect with someone special can be found all around Branson. Here’s a look at some of what Branson has to offer for couples.

Set the Scene for Romance

Allow romance to bloom as you escape to a quiet dinner location where you can enjoy chef-created dishes in an idyllic setting. Here are a few suggested restaurants where you’ll find restaurants with chefs creating meals you’ll remember and still be talking about the next time you visit. Level 2 Steakhouse located inside the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel is a Branson original. Everything on their menu—from steaks to seafood—is amazing. From the modern decor and quiet ambiance to the outstanding service, this is a great option for a romantic or special vacation dinner. Another unique touch is that you choose your knife, from several options, for your meal. After you’ve visited several times you even get your own knife bearing your name, which is kept for your future visits.

If enjoying stunning views while treating yourself to a great meal is your idea of heaven, head south a few miles to Top of the Rock. Top of the Rock offers several dining options, all with fabulous views of the Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake. We suggest planning a leisurely evening here, so you can enjoy cocktails or a cup of coffee outside on their patio. During cooler seasons, enjoy one of the outdoor fireplaces where you can cozy up together.

You can also take in stunning Table Rock Lake views at the Chateau Grill at Chateau on the Lake. Their gourmet menu pairs perfectly with a glass of wine sipped slowly on their deck overlooking the lake. Request a reservation for sunset and be ready to feel your cares just slip away as you enjoy a perfectly prepared steak or seafood entrée in one of Branson’s most romantic settings.

Health-conscious couples can enjoy farm-to-table fare at Dobyns Dining Room inside the Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks. The students create many of the dishes, and most of the produce and meats served are also produced at the college. The rustic elegance of the restaurant provides a beautiful setting where couples can enjoy unique culinary creations.

Watch the Sunset

An Ozarks sunset is a stunning display of Mother Nature’s glory that you won’t want to miss. Get a bird’s-eye view of the setting sun with Chopper Charters. Their helicopter tours show you the city, the lakes, Table Rock Dam, and during the holidays you can even enjoy an aerial view of the area’s Christmas lights.
Watch the sunset over Table Rock Lake aboard an evening cruise of the Showboat Branson Belle. Enjoy a delicious three-course meal and one of Branson’s most popular shows while cruising Table Rock. Couples have plenty of time to head out to the decks to breathe in the lake air and take in the sights. For an extra-special experience, upgrade to the Lieutenant's or Captain’s Club, where you’ll have VIP seating and various menu choices to enjoy for dinner.

Another beautiful lake with great scenery is Lake Taneycomo. For a luxury experience, check out the Landing Princess Dinner Cruise at the Main Street Marina. You’ll sail on a luxury yacht from Branson Landing and take in beautiful sunset views of the lake and its rock bluff shoreline. The dinner cruise features a cash bar as well as delicious food all served in an elegant setting that is perfect for romance.

Cheers to a Getaway

Experience some of Missouri’s award-winning wines at one of the area’s wineries. Curling Vine Winery offers wine tours and tastings along with bottling demonstrations. At Mount Pleasant Winery, you can step into their tasting room or learn even more about wine during their Wine 101 class. St. James Winery is the newest addition to Branson’s wine offerings. Here you can enjoy tastings, an outdoor patio, or a delicious meal in their restaurant. Lindwedel Winery is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and take in their breathtaking rolling hills from the back deck. Crown Valley is a great stop for couples that want to taste more than wine. Here you can try their Branson-made whiskeys, or their other beers, ciders, wines and spirits made right here in Missouri.

Unwind and Relax

Unwinding is often easier said than done. A leisurely stroll along one of the lakeside trails is a great way to start a romantic and relaxing visit to Branson. You might even want to pack a picnic to enjoy the sounds of Table Rock Lake lapping the shoreline. When you’re ready to take relaxation to the next level, a visit to one of Branson’s spas will have you feeling refreshed in no time. You’ll find several day spa choices around Branson that offer massages, facials, pedicures and more. The front desk at most hotels will have a list of options near where you’re staying. For a full spa experience, you have two very luxurious options. Chateau on the Lake and Big Cedar Lodge both offer spas with a long menu of treatment options, along with saunas and hot tubs for day users to enjoy. Plus, both Chateau on the Lake and Big Cedar Lodge offer views you can only find in the Ozark Mountains.

Slowing down and reconnecting with someone special is a great way to enjoy Branson. From great meals to sharing stunning panoramic views, take time to enjoy the Ozarks and each other.
