Myrtle Beach Area Features

Filet’s Waterfront

  By: Paula Beckham

Imagine ending your day sipping a cool cocktail and enjoying a sumptuous meal while watching the sun set over the water. Sound like a tall order? Not at Filet’s Waterfront. Overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach, Filet’s offers an amazing selection of steaks, seafood, sushi and more in a setting that can’t be matched. Choose the dining room with its views of Harbourgate Marina or sit outside on the patio and feel those sweet breezes. Whichever you choose, you’re in for a treat.

Filet’s appetizer menu features a nice selection of dishes including oysters and shrimp prepared several ways, as well as beef tips and wings. The lobster cake, stuffed with chunks of Maine lobster and recommended for two, is the house specialty and a customer favorite. Another fine starter is Kevin’s Homemade Lobster Bisque, prepared from owner Kevin Richards’ family recipe.

Steaks at Filet’s are hand trimmed and grilled to perfection over an open flame. Choose from the 8-oz. filet, NY strip and Delmonico ribeyes that can be paired with snow crab legs or lobster tail for a custom surf and turf, or topped with signature sauces and toppings. Slow-roasted garlic-encrusted prime rib is also served in a 10-oz. or 14-oz. cut.

Other house specialties include a number of seafood, chicken and pork dishes such as stuffed flounder, a mild white fish stuffed with homemade crab stuffing, baked and finished with the house seafood sauce. Tuna Oscar features an 8-oz. tuna filet, blackened, seared and topped with a crab cake, asparagus and bernaise sauce.
Sushi lovers will find Filet’s sushi is the freshest and best on the beach. There is a full menu including soup, appetizers, sushi, sashimi, hand rolls and specialty rolls.

The wine list features a fine selection of red and white wines, with several of each available by the glass as well as the bottle. Servers are happy to help you pair the perfect wine with your meal.

Filet’s Happy Hour, which happens on the patio from 4-7pm daily, is without a doubt the best at the beach! A locals’ favorite, Capt’n Dilligaf’s Tiki Bar sits right on the Intracoastal Waterway next to the swing bridge—so close, they say, you can almost touch the boats. There are appetizer and drink specials every day as well as a summer tiki menu. The full dinner menu is also served on the patio. There’s live music, too, so be prepared to party.

Filet’s is located at 2120 Sea Mountain Hwy., North Myrtle Beach, near Harbourgate Marina and the historic Little River Swing Bridge. They open at 4pm daily. For more information, call 843-280-5200 or visit www.FiletsWaterfront.com.
