Myrtle Beach Area Features

Preston’s Seafood & Country Buffet

  By: Paula Beckham

Choosing a restaurant that suits every member of the family can be difficult, unless of course, you choose Preston’s Seafood & Country Buffet. This North Myrtle Beach landmark has been pleasing locals and visitors for 27 years. What keeps people coming back? It’s the perfect combination of delicious food, attentive, friendly service and an inviting atmosphere. Try it once and you’ll soon have a new vacation tradition.

Preston’s grand buffet is a seafood lover’s paradise! You’ll find your favorite fried seafoods—shrimp, oysters, scallops, and flounder—along with broiled salmon and mahi mahi, crab cakes, and stuffed flounder. Shrimp, America’s favorite seafood, makes an appearance in shrimp Creole, shrimp Alfredo, boom boom shrimp, and a lowcountry classic, shrimp and grits. There’s also a variety of shellfish including steamed mussels in wine sauce, steamed clams and more.

Crab legs, which can be added to your buffet, are extra special. Top-quality Alaskan crab legs are cooked to order and served at your table hot with melted butter.

The meat eaters in the family will be equally impressed with their choices. Who can resist juicy prime rib, carved to order? There are sirloin and T-bone steaks, baked honey ham, baked and fried chicken, BBQ ribs and more.
You’ll love the perfectly seasoned vegetables and side dishes. Homemade mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole with pecan topping are two favorites among a fine selection including baked and ranch potatoes, baked yellow squash, fried okra and more.

The salad bar at Preston’s is exceptional, with 15 feet of fresh, crispy fruits and vegetables and creamy dressings, seafood and shrimp salads, potato salad, pasta salad and cold-boiled shrimp. If the tomatoes taste especially flavorful, it’s because owner Jane McMichael grows them herself. That’s dedication to quality!

Rich she-crab soup and New England-style clam chowder can be found on the soup bar.

Melt-in-your-mouth yeast rolls from the in-house bakery are an ideal accompaniment for any meal. And, though it will be hard to do, save room for dessert that includes yummy cakes, pies and warm fruit cobblers, ready to be topped with ice cream.

Kids will love the foods Preston’s prepares especially for them. They can choose from pizza, hamburgers, corn dog nuggets, chicken tenders, French fries and nachos with cheese—and kids under 3 eat free!

Diners who prefer may order from a full menu that includes seafood, steak and chicken.

A full bar with cocktails, wine and a variety of beers is available.

Preston’s is located at 4530 Hwy.17 S., North Myrtle Beach, just north of Barefoot Landing. They open at 4pm daily and 3pm June through August. For more information, call 843-272-3338 or visit www.PrestonsRestaurant.com.
