Myrtle Beach Hot Spots

T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Stations

There are two ways to experience the greatest hands-on, interactive wildlife encounter in the world. You can visit T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station, located at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach for free! Or you can take the T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounter Tour, located south of Myrtle Beach airport at the T.I.G.E.R.S. Preserve. T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station is a free wildlife exhibit and living tiger museum with all proceeds benefiting the Rare Species Fund and international grass roots wildlife preservation projects. At Preservation Station you get to meet some of the world’s most amazing animals up-close and un-caged while they play and relax in an outdoor environment. You will see Bengal tigers, Siberian tigers, Royal White Bengal tigers and the very rare Golden Tabby tiger. Cuddle up with baby apes and monkeys! Hold a tiger cub in your lap! Or get nose to nose with a 500-pound adult tiger! And our photo sessions provide the memory of a lifetime. During the reasonably priced session you will cuddle up and get hands-on with a variety of animals while they sit on your lap. Tigers Den Gift Shop has the ‘Purrfect’ gift to delight any animal lover. As you browse the gift shop, you are surrounded by the power and excitement of these big cats! Only 1” separates you and the tigers!

For those who really love a hands-on thrill, the T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounter Tour is a guided walk through our beautiful 50-acre preserve. The state-of-the-art facility offers the ideal setting that ensures the animals’ comfort and the visitors’ safety. On the Wild Encounter Tour you will interact with our uncaged apes, orangutans, and chimpanzees; watch tigers swim; meet our gray wolves and get the feel for our “cubs” on your lap. Adding to the excitement, you will meet Bubbles the 4-ton African elephant and the Liger, the world’s largest cat, as seen in the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records. During the tour, our professional photographers shoot still pictures and video of your tour experience. Only the T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounter Tour gives you the opportunity to take home fabulous portraits and phenomenal videos that can’t be compared to any other family photo opportunity.

Dr. Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, the founder and director of T.I.G.E.R.S., is one of the world’s foremost tiger trainers and world-renowned animal conservation expert. He says, “The T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounter Tour provides experiences that create lifelong memories. We teach respect and an appreciation for the earth and all the animals we share it with.” Doc adds, “The wildlife ambassadors at our facilities – great apes, big cats, the elephant and a stunning group of other highly interactive species – offer our guests a collection of experiences that can be life-changing. During these encounters our guests connect with wildlife in a very intimate way that personally involves them in the lives of these amazing animals. They then walk away into the world with a desire to save these creatures and help preserve their environments. Our animals receive superior care. Our main concern is always for the health and welfare of our animals. That’s our priority here, to take the best care of our animals and share them with the world.”

Everyone is welcome at T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station in Barefoot Landing, but no small children are allowed on the Wild Encounter Tour. T.I.G.E.R.S.
