Want to see more? Take a Sea Adventures boat trip and see dolphins, pelicans, and other native wildlife. Or help work a trawl net to collect fish and invertebrates during an Ocean Collections trip. In the winter months, Sea Adventures trips head out in search of whales and migratory visitors to Virginia. Each trip is staffed by trained, knowledgeable Virginia Aquarium educators.
Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl: Home Sweet Home, a changing exhibit at the Virginia Aquarium through September 5, 2016, uses hands-on activities to demonstrate the importance of protecting forest ecosystems. The exhibit also highlights ways to reduce, reuse and recycle valuable resources.
Don’t miss the Virginia Aquarium’s National Geographic 3D Digital Theater. With the largest movie screen in Virginia, each seat has a great view for the summer’s featured movie, MacGillivray Freeman’s National Parks Adventure. Other family-oriented documentaries and yesterday’s Hollywood favorites are also regularly scheduled.
