Williamsburg Area Features

Welcome to the Greater Williamsburg Area

The Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance welcomes you to our amazing destination! We hope that you will enjoy visiting all of the exciting attractions in the Williamsburg, James City County and York County communities that make our region so fun and exciting for visitors.

Perhaps nowhere else does the exciting story of America come to life more vividly than in our region. Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown embody more hands-on history than anywhere else in the country. Our area provides so much to see and do: from the first English-speaking settlement in America at Jamestown, to the battle of Yorktown, through the formation of government and the struggle for liberty in Williamsburg.
Greater Williamsburg is also your perfect destination if you are seeking fun! Find your thrill at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the world’s most beautiful theme park, or cool off and make a splash at Water Country USA.

Need the freedom to satisfy your curiosity? Head outdoors to bike, hike, Segway and zip-line your way to adventure. Visit the new American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and feel what it was like to be in the Siege at Yorktown. And don’t forget a trip to America’s second-oldest college, The College of William and Mary.
Craving the freedom to relax? Learn to kayak or join an archaeological dig! Explore our beautiful woodlands, wetlands and miles of cycling trails including the Virginia Capital Trail, a 52-mile dedicated paved pedestrian and bicycle trail that takes you from Williamsburg along the James River to Richmond.

Did you know that our area is America’s original farm-to-table destination? We have some of the best restaurants in Virginia with incredible culinary experiences for everyone. Many of our chef-owned restaurants feature local and regional foods farmed right here in Virginia. Then try out our new Williamsburg Tasting Trail with locally made craft beer, wine, mead and spirits!

Please call our office at 757-229-6511 if you have any questions while here. You can find your freedom in Greater Williamsburg by exploring the many options available on our official destination website VisitWilliamsburg.com.

Enjoy your visit and come back soon to enjoy our region during each season of the year.
