Pip “wrote” a book for kids about all the attractions and sights that he has been to in the area including Ocean Gallery and the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum. Pip was recently the guest of honor at a rocket launch at Wallops Island, VA. Proceeds from his stardom benefit charities involving animal rescue centers and nursing homes.
Moviegoers will love having a new venue to visit to watch the latest summer blockbusters. Flagship Cinemas is opening a new theater complex at the White Marlin Mall in West Ocean City. New Rules on Mako Fishing
Anyone who is casting a line for mako sharks needs to know a new restriction that has been put into effect by NOAA Fisheries. While you’re busy reeling in your catch, pay attention to whether it’s male or female. Male shortfin mako sharks must be a minimum regulation size of 71”. That’s changed from a previous rule of 54”. Females must be a minimum of 83” but this is unchanged from previous years. How can you tell the difference between male and female mako sharks? The male has 2 appendages that help it to latch on to the female. The trick is trying to spot this while battling the shark onto the boat!
