There's a lot going on in Fort Myers Beach and on the Islands of Sanibel and Captiva. Here's a sampling of some of the events occurring throughout the year.

Sunset Celebration at Time Square
On-Going Event: 6/28/2019 - 10/31/2020
Live music, food and fun at Time Square on Fort Myers Beach. Every Friday and Saturday from 6-10pm.  Fort Myers Beach.
Taco Fest
Taco Fest is a lively food-fiesta highlighted by great musical performances from local bands. It is held at Riverside Park in Bonita Springs in the fall and at Centennial Park in Downtown Fort Myers in the spring. All participating restaurants feature at least one $2 Taco on their menus. It will be a fun day for both adults and children including Mariachi bands as well as unlimited kids' activities.  Downtown Fort Myers. 239-214-6009
Garlic Fest
Eat, Drink, and Stink at the 3rd Annual Garlic Fest at Centennial Park in Downtown Fort Myers. All food vendors will feature delicious, garlic-infused dishes on their menus. Entertainment includes live music throughout the day. Admission is $10 for ages 3+ and all children's activities are free inside the event.   Downtown Fort Myers. 239-214-6009
"Ding" Darling & Doc Ford's Tarpon Tourney, Sanibel Island
To celebrate the history of the first documented tarpon caught on a rod-and-reel in "Ding" Darling's Tarpon Bay in 1885, Doc Ford's and the "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge have partnered to host this ninth annual "catch, care, and release" tournament on May 22, 2020. Registration is $500 per team of four, 100 percent of which goes back to the anglers in cash awards.   Sanibel Island. 239-472-1000
Independence Day Celebration
Parades on Periwinkle Way on Sanibel Island and also on Fort Myers Beach during the day. The Fort Myers Beach Fourth of July fireworks show begins at approximately 9pm at Times Square. Closing time for the Matanzas Pass bridge is 9:30-11pm to oncoming traffic. So during that time you can get off the island but not on.  Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island. 239-472-1080
